Master in Conservation-Restauration
(2nd cycle)

Presentation

Cultural Heritage is one of the most important assets for any country, its protection and enhancement is one of the state's core tasks (Portuguese Constitution, Article 9). Conservation and Restoration is an activity that contributes the most to that purpose, minimizing the effects that promote degradation of our cultural heritage, allowing this legacy to be conveniently enjoyed in the present and passed on to future generations.

The Master course in Conservation and Restoration answers to the demands and needs of today's society and is in conformity with international recommendations concerning conservators’ education. In this context, the course involves different scientific areas, namely Conservation and Restoration, Conservation Sciences and Humanities (History and History of Art) and provides a solid theoretical and practical education, which is the basis for the establishment and development of suitable skills in Conservation and Restoration, and favours targeted training aimed for a professional context.
